BIODIVERSITY
The biodiversity awareness activities have been developed to understand better the variety and variability of life on Earth and in Zambia. It is an introduction aiming at a better care of the environment. We focus on natural resources management within the work of your organisation, in your community, at school and at home.

These activities have been designed to encourage any audience to become active with successful recycling practices. We kick start change and we support a sustainable and successful process with key local players.

OUR GOAL
EcoZambia is a local NGO focusing on eco-friendly behaviours. We advocate for stronger climate change mitigation measures and a better management of natural resources.
Our goal is to trigger positive changes in order to limit negative impacts on our habitat. We also aim to improve livelihoods.
OUR VISION
EcoZambia was created because our fragile planet is our home and it really needs solutions. It needs change.

OUR TEAM
Bubotu has a passion for change. She studied Environmental Education at the University of Zambia which sparked a particular interest in environment and sustainable development. She loves to volunteer and has worked with various organisations including: The Salvation Army Chikankata Mission Hospital, Barefeet Theatre and Chikumbuso Women and Orphans Project. With a strong vision and determination she is eager to contribute to the development of her country.

Bubotu Hachitapika

Gilma has over 15 years of experience managing development projects linked to the environment, health and education with the EU. She has also worked for Oxfam-Magasin du Monde, an organisation that promotes socioeconomic alternatives by selling fair trade products. Passionate about recycling, she has contributed to Le Cercle Déchets d’Oeuvres, a project to raise awareness about recycling by making art out of waste in Belgium.

Maeva is a graduate from Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs. She has worked with international NGOs such as Handicap International and Action Against Hunger in risk analysis and advocacy and hopes to develop those skills to help foster sustainable development across the globe. She coordinated EcoZambia’s activities in 2016 and is now a board member.

Michelle Chimuka
Treasurer
Michelle is a Chartered Accountant who started her career in the private sector working for one of the ‘Big Four’ firms. Her passion to make a difference eventually lured her towards the development sector and in 2014, with a brother with Down syndrome having no avenue to pursue a career path of his own choosing, she founded the Sani Foundation, a social enterprise teaches young adults with intellectual disabilities how to make products out of recycled waste materials
Aurélien was as a journalist for Radio France Internationale and worked for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in several countries in Latin America. He also dealt with energy challenges with Areva, and Human Rights issues with the European Disability Forum. He then ran advocacy campaigns to lobby the EU and the UN for a more inclusive society. Aurélien was working for the emergency response unit of CBM when he came to Zambia in 2014. He is now an adviser for several international organisations.

Pauline Carron
Director
Pauline Carron is a Swiss eco friendly young women. Graduated from Science Po with a specialisation in Public Administration, she always had a green vision of life, fighting for different environmental protection NGO during her studies (and growing her own garden). She worked three years in Nouakchott, Mauritania, managing a water and sanitation access programme for the Swiss cooperation before she came to Zambia.
